🌿 About Dawn 

There is a quiet kind of work that begins with the hands.
Drawing fibre slowly, feeling the texture of wool, cotton, and alpaca, and allowing each thread to take its time. 

I am a fibre artist and workshop facilitator based in regional Victoria, working with natural fibres from their raw beginnings through to hand-spun and handwoven textiles. My practice centres on slow, mindful making — where the process matters just as much as the finished piece. 

A slower way of making 

What I offer is not rushed, and not mass-produced. 

My work is grounded in: 

• working directly with natural fibres 
• traditional hand processes such as spinning and weaving 
• a calm, attentive pace of making 
• allowing the material to guide the outcome 

This creates textiles that carry not only form, but story — shaped through touch, patience, and time.

My approach to teaching reflects this: grounded in experience, open in spirit, and shared rather than prescribed.

My work is shaped by where I live and make — in regional Victoria, where there is space to slow down, observe, and work with intention. 

Workshops are offered locally, including sessions connected with the Rare Trades Centre and surrounding creative communities.
